What is Beer by the River?

Now in its fourth year, Beer by the River was set up in 2013 initially marking the fifth birthday of Sambrook’s Brewery, it is a festival celebrating the local community, beer, music and food.

Where is Beer by the River?

2016 sees us at a new venue – Tooting Bec Common, SW17.

How to get there: The Beer By The River site is located on the Western end of Tooting Common, near the corner of Dr Johnson Ave and Tooting Bec Rd.

By public transport you can arrive via:

TRAIN: Balham Rail Station (20 min walk) or Streatham Hill Rail Station (25 min walk)

TUBE: (Underground): Tooting Bec Tube Station (10 min walk)

BUS: you can catch the 249 between Clapham Junction and Anerley or the 319 that runs between Sloan Square and Streatham.

How much does it cost?

Early bird tickets are available via Eventbrite until the end of July priced at £5. From August tickets on Eventbrite will be priced at £8. Tickets will be available on the gate priced at the full rate of £10 per day. Under 18’s will not be charged an entry fee to the festival but must be accompanied by an adult.

How do I buy tickets?

What is there to do at Beer by the River?

Each year, Beer by the River gets bigger, here is just a selection of what entry entitles you to:

  • Fantastic range of beers and cider

  • A wide range of music entertainment staggered throughout the day and evening from local and national bands

  • Great selection of food stalls

  • Tutored tasting and talks on beer styles

  • Children’s Amusements

Can I bring Children?

Yes. The festival is a family friendly event with ample entertainment for all ages. Children under the age of 18 receive free entry and can keep an eye on your picnic rug while you dance (poorly) to the amazing music on the main stage.

Can I buy tickets on the door?

Yes, tickets will be available on the door, but early bird tickets are available online via Eventbrite.

Can I bring a picnic?

No. There will be a large selection of food available to purchase at the festival, unfortunately outside food and drink will not be allowed to be bought in to the festival site. We do however welcome blankets, chairs, hay bales or anything else (within reason) that may make your stay comfortable.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are allowed inside the park but must be kept on a lead.

Who are Sambrook’s Brewery?

Sambrook’s Brewery have been uncompromising in brewing quality cask, bottle and keg beer at their brewery in Battersea since 2008. Sambrook’s Brewery use traditional brewing techniques alongside carefully selected ingredients, which their brewers blend to create exceptional tasting, British beers.

Is there anything to drink other than beer?

Yes. We will have a Pimm’s & Prosecco bar and other alcoholic drinks include a wide selection of ciders. We will also have soft drinks available for children and those that do not wish to consume alcoholic beverages.
